Supporting Young persons with behavioural or emotional risks
Ensure that resident support plans and risk assessment arefollowed and contribute to regular reviews of these plans, forindividuals to achieve the greatest possible control over their ownlife.
Assist residents to manage and maximise their financeseffectively and monitor regular rent and service charge paymentswhere appropriate.
Ensuring that all residents’ records are accurately maintained.
Promote independent living, confidence building, self-awareness,training, education, employment opportunities and participation inthe local community.
Enable residents to develop and implement their support planneeds and risk assessments.
Communicate/consult with relatives, partners, advocates, friendsor carers and other staff and agencies, as appropriate, regardingthe resident’s health, social care and well-being.
Promote resident involvement in shaping and monitoringservices, so they have real choice and control over the servicethey receive.
Provide high quality, responsive and person-centred services thatmeet the physical, mental and emotional needs of residents andensuring people have choice and control over their own lives.
Be aware of and follow Houses of Hope policies andprocedures, with particular attention to standards of residentservice, health and safety, and equality and diversity
Demonstrates a sensitive and supportiveapproach to vulnerable people maintaining theirdignity and self-respect at all times.
Knowledge of welfare benefits.
Good written and oral communication, numeracy,IT and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of organisations providing services to vulnerable people especially those with behavioural and emotional issues
Ability to cope with verbally aggressive and volatile situations.
Desirable:
Understanding of Health and Safety issues.
Experience of supported housing work includinghousing management, advocacy and debtmanagement.
Be able to cover shifts at short notices and flexible in a demanding workingenvironment
Qualifications
Appropriate professional or vocationalqualification – desirable. NVQs 2-3
